We are thrilled to announce that registration is now open for the upcoming Aliso Viejo Avalanche season! We understand the importance of a seamless registration and tryout process, therefore, we strongly encourage you to pre-register online in order to avoid delay at check-in. Pre-registration will also include payment for your tryout fee*. Tryouts will be held at Aliso Viejo Ice Palace. We look forward to seeing you on the ice!

2024-25 USA Hockey Membership and 2024-25 SCAHA Passcode are required for tryouts:

Step 2: Click here to register for 2024-25 SCAHA Passcode 

(Please note: You will need to create an account with SCAHA. Once logged in, you will click in the header ‘Register for SCAHA', enter your USA Hockey confirmation number to generate a SCAHA Passcode. Once complete, you will receive an email with your code from SCAHA.)

Step 3: If you are new to SCAHA/CAHA, you will need to bring a photocopy of your birth certificate or email a copy to club Registrar. If you were born in a country outside of the US, you might be asked to fill out a transfer form and provide a copy of your government issued birth certificate and/or US Visa documents to the club Registrar. 

Check-in:
- Check-in at the tryout table and present required documentation - USA Hockey membership and SCAHA Passcode. You will not be able to participate in tryouts without the required documentation.
- Receive your tryout pullover that has a designated number on it. You will wear this over your jersey prior to entering the ice. Proceed to assigned locker rooms and be ready to get on the ice at the designated tryout time.

On Ice Tryout:
- Tryout ice time will be approximately 45 minutes.
- After the tryout is over, please remain at the rink until results have been given. Results will be shared with each player, and at that time, you will be instructed to do one of the following:

• CONGRATS! Selected for Team: Players who have been selected for the team at the first tryout will be asked to return for the second tryout skate on June 17.

• Return to Second Tryout: Players who have been called back for a second look will be asked to return for the second tryout skate on June 17.   

• Free to attend tryouts for other outside club teams.

You made the team, now what?
- Immediately following the tryout, you will meet with an Avalanche team member in a designated area
- With help from the Avalanche Registrar, you will complete your SCAHA Letter of Intent (LOI)

•  Once you sign an LOI, you may not tryout for any other team (Does not apply: SCAHA players who are on a High School team, girls may roster on both a girls team and a boys team as long as there is no conflict with SCAHA rules.) 

Player Agreement and Payment:

- Player agreements and financial arrangements will be completed online, following tryouts. Please look out for details from club Registrar.
